EU’s AI policy pivot due to overall sense of overregulation: Michael McNamara

The European Union (EU) acknowledges that there is a degree of overregulation and also a general desire by the European Commission to simplify the EU AI Act, said Michael McNamara, co-chair of European Parliament’s AI Working Group. “…and undoubtedly all of that played into the withdrawal of the AI Liability Directive proposal,” he told ET.
