India is now OpenAI’s second-largest and fastest-growing market, with active users more than tripling over the last year, said Kevin Weil, Chief Product Officer at the company behind ChatGPT, in an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18.
“We saw our image generation tool just take off,” Weil said, pointing to an unexpected surge in adoption led by high-profile Indian users. “Prime Minister Modi tweeted using it. We had cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar tweet images from ChatGPT.”
