US President Donald Trump has claimed that Taiwanese chip giant TSMC will invest $300 billion in Arizona, but the company has not announced any new commitments beyond what it previously disclosed in March, raising questions about the source of Trump’s figure.

“You know, we have the biggest in the world, as you know, from Taiwan is coming over and spending $300 billion in Arizona, building the biggest plant in the world for chips and semiconductors,” Trump said Tuesday on CNBC‘s Squawk Box.
