Minnesota State sues TikTok over addictive algorithms harming users

Attorney General Keith Ellison has filed a lawsuit against TikTok Inc. for violating Minnesota’s consumer protection laws via addictive algorithms that prey on young people’s neurodevelopmental vulnerabilities. The latest action follows on the AG’s federal lawsuit filed against Meta in October 2023 for similar violations through its design of Instagram and Facebook.
