The latest executive order by the Trump administration, hiking the fees for H-1B visas to $100,000, could be especially detrimental to Indian IT companies and professionals.

While Indian IT service providers have reduced their dependence on this particular route, it was still used to bring thousands of Indian professionals to the US. TCS sponsored 5,505 H-1B employees in 2025, the second-highest after Amazon, but only due to its large workforce, according to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) data.
