New TRAI rule: Names of original callers to display on screen when getting calls

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has authorised a significant change: identities of callers will now show up on the recipient’s phone screen by default when they get a phone call.
According to an official statement released on Tuesday, the Department of Telecom (DoT) and telecom regulator TRAI have reached an agreement to display the caller’s original name by default, in accordance with the identity used to connect to the called party.
