OpenAI appoints Instacart CEO Fidji Simo as CEO of applications

ChatGPT maker OpenAI has appointed Fidji Simo as the chief executive office of applications in a major leadership addition to the AI company. She will join OpenAI later this year and report to the Sam Altman, who remains the overall CEO of the AI platform.Simo is expected to strengthen application-focused initiatives at OpenAI, including ChatGPT and other consumer-facing AI applications.
Meanwhile, Altman said he will be able to focus on research, compute and safety in the new configuration as the AI platform approaches “superintelligence”.
