Apple unveils ultra-thin iPhone Air with eSIM-only support, new titanium design

Apple on Tuesday launched the iPhone Air, the thinnest iPhone ever made, at its annual hardware event. Measuring just 5.6mm thick, the new device introduces a titanium build with a Ceramic Shield 2 front cover and Ceramic Shield protection on the back, making it more durable than any previous iPhone.
The iPhone 17 Air drops the physical SIM tray entirely, offering only eSIM support worldwide. Apple, which removed SIM card slots from US models in 2022, said the shift saves internal space, improves security, and makes international travel easier. eSIM…
