Ola Electric to gain highest number of electric two-wheeler registrations in September

Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric had the highest number of electric two-wheeler registrations in September, with a 179% month-on-month (MoM) jump to 9,616 units, according to Vahan data on October 1.

The electric mobility startup’s vehicle registration had dropped in recent months as a result of one of its escooters catching fire and users reporting safety issues with them. As a result, after reaching a high of 12,707 units in April, its escooter registrations began to fall on a monthly basis. In August, there were 3,440 registrations. In mid-August, the startup also released a more affordable version of its Ola S1 Pro scooter. Ola Electric said in a statement on September 1 that it sold 10,000 units of its latest Ola S1 model within 24 hours of opening the booking window for early reservations.
