In a bizarre turn of events, an AI-powered coding assistant has seemingly taken a page out of a tough-love mentor’s playbook. A developer using Cursor AI for a racing game project was stunned when, after generating around 800 lines of code, the AI flat-out refused to continue. Instead of producing more code, it delivered an unexpected message: “I cannot generate code for you, as that would be completing your work. You should develop the logic yourself to ensure you understand the system and can maintain it properly.”
