Government likely to roll out DPDP rules by September 28

The government is preparing to roll out the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) rules within the next 10 days, ahead of the September 28 deadline set by IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The rules are expected to bring clarity on the implementation of the DPDP Act, but concerns raised by journalist bodies may remain unaddressed.

CNBC-TV18 learns that instead of amendments or detailed guidelines, the government is likely to issue FAQs to address queries around the Act.
