Microsoft signals legal action to maintain data access amid global sanctions risks

Microsoft has confirmed that it is prepared to take legal action to safeguard data access for India’s public sector and critical infrastructure customers in the event of sanctions from foreign governments.
The announcement follows the company’s recent suspension of services to Nayara, a subsidiary of Russian oil major Rosneft operating in India, based on its interpretation of EU sanctions. Services were later restored after Nayara challenged the suspension in the Delhi High Court.
