Govt To Conduct 2027 Census Via Digital Means

The MoS said that the Centre plans to collect data for the Census through mobile apps, adding that respondents will be able to “self-enumerate” through a web portal

The Union government also plans to manage and monitor the entire Census process through a dedicated online portal

In the most significant overhaul of the Census exercise since independence, the move is likely aimed at improving accuracy, reducing manual data entry and trimming processing timelines
