Karnataka High Court defers Online Gaming Act case pending Supreme Court transfer plea
[ad_1]
The Karnataka High Court on Monday (September 8) adjourned the hearing of a petition filed by the parent company of online gaming platform A23, which is challenging provisions of the Centre’s law banning online money gaming.
The court said it was deferring the matter in view of the Supreme Court’s decision to hear a transfer petition filed by the Centre. Last week, the government sought to consolidate all cases against the Online Gaming Act before the apex court.
The Supreme Court is expected to take up the Centre’s transfer plea shortly.
