Spotify finally rolls out lossless audio for Premium users after years of empty promises

It’s been a long time coming — literally since 2017 — but Spotify is finally rolling out lossless audio. After years of teasing, delays, and half-promises (“later this year” in 2021, “almost ready” in May 2024), the streaming giant is now making high-fidelity sound available to Premium subscribers in over 50 markets.

The rollout starts with the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, and more, and will expand through October. Subscribers will get a notification when the feature hits their account, and can enable lossless from the media…
