The national-level business plan competition is aimed at encouraging people all around the world to fast-track a business idea and succeed. A design to emulate the process of the growth of an idea toward a full-fledged start-up. UNICUS takes pride in providing a 360-degree holistic experience in three stages which range from acknowledging that your idea has potential to drafting a B-Model and pitching it in front of an esteemed panel of investors.
Round 1: The Fling
This round consists of an online questionnaire conducted via unstop quiz which will have questions on various business-related concepts along with a brief plan description. The online portal for registration will remain open till 31st December 2023 and the portal for quiz will be live from 20th December, 2023 to 2nd January 2024.
Rules of the Round:
- Teams must meet the competition’s eligibility requirements to participate in this round(currently enrolled in BTech, Mtech, MBA and other Masters course)
- All teams must submit their responses to the online questionnaire via the designated platform(Unstop) within the specified timeframe.
- Teams must submit their responses by the stated deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Any attempt to manipulate or breach the rules of the online questionnaire platform will result in disqualification.
- Based on questionnaire performance, teams will be shortlisted for the next round.
Round 2: The Engagement
There will be a formal presentation in offline mode on the VJTI college campus where the participants will be judged by distinguished judges and ranked for shortlisting the final contenders.
Rules of the Round:
- Teams must physically attend and present on the VJTI college campus as scheduled.
- The presentation content must align with the initial questionnaire responses and provide further insights into the business plan.
- Teams must adhere to the specified time limit for their presentations(5-6 minutes).
- All participants must maintain professionalism and respect for judges and other participants throughout the event.
- Presentations will be judged based on predetermined criteria, including innovation, feasibility, and presentation quality.
- The decisions of the distinguished judges are final, and no disputes will be entertained during or after the event.
- Any significant changes or discrepancies from the initial questionnaire should be explained transparently during the presentation.
- Teams are responsible for ensuring that their presentation technology (e.g., slides, equipment) works as intended.
- Discrimination against any participant or judge will not be tolerated and may lead to disqualification.
Round 3: The Marriage
The shortlisted submissions will then present their business plan to prominent real-world investors who will judge the final round of this amazing journey on the basis of various predetermined factors. The winners will be declared by them, and some socially evident business plans also stand a chance to be funded. There will be a surprise twist which will be revealed one day before the event!

- Based on presentation quality and performance, finalists will be shortlisted for the next round.
- Teams must physically attend and present on the VJTI college campus as scheduled.
- Finalists will present their business plans to real-world investors.
- Teams must adhere to the specified time limit for their presentations(10-15 minutes).
- All parties must respect the confidentiality of the presented materials, as stated in the competition’s rules.
- The investor panel’s decisions are final and binding, and no further discussions or appeals will be entertained.
- Presentations should focus on business concepts that align with ethical and socially responsible practices.
- Any breach of ethics, misconduct, or violation of the competition’s rules will result in disqualification.
- The winners will be announced, and both winners and socially evident business plans may receive acknowledgment and support.
