Tinder in India now checks video selfies to block fake profiles

Online dating app Tinder, on Wednesday, introduced a new feature in India called Face Check to help users avoid fake profiles and make the app safer. The tool requires new users to record a short video selfie. This selfie is then compared to the photos they have on their profile.

If the pictures match, the user receives a Photo Verified badge, which signals to others that the person is real and not a bot or someone using fake photos.
