TikTok unveils updated community guidelines; to come into force from September 13

TikTok has announced revised community guidelines on its platform, which include stricter rules for commercial content and new measures around artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content. The updates will take effect starting September 13 this year.

Under the updated guidelines, TikTok will now minimise the visibility of commercial content, directing users to buy products off-platform in markets where TikTok Shop is available.
