OpenAI confirms plans to open first office in Delhi; Sam Altman says ‘India can become a global AI leader’

OpenAI on Friday confirmed its plans of opening its first-ever office in India along with other measures to better serve its users in the country. The ChatGPT maker stated that its first office will be opened in Delhi and has also begun work on hiring a dedicated local team.

The new team, OpenAI says, will work closely on strengthening its relationships with local partners, governments, businesses, developers, and academic institutions.
