Third round of layoffs, more leadership exits hit Krutrim

Ola’s artificial intelligence (AI) arm Krutrim has laid off close to 50 employees in the linguistics team – including team leads and transcribers across regional languages such as Bengali, Malayalam and Punjabi – in its third round of layoffs since June.

So far, over 200 people have left the firm, including layoffs and leadership exits, people aware of the development told ET.

This comes at a time when the company is building its largest language model (LLM), Krutrim 3, which will be a multibillion parameter model.
