Sony tests advanced in-camera authenticity tech to fight AI-generated images

Sony Electronics has completed a second round of testing for its in-camera authenticity technology, which creates a digital signature for images to validate their origin. The technology, developed in partnership with Camera Bits, preserves the camera’s digital signature through the metadata editing process. The authentication features will be released in a firmware update for the Alpha 9 III, Alpha 1, and Alpha 7S III cameras in spring 2024.
