Airtel and Meta collaborate to extend the Subsea Cable System 2Africa Pearls to India

Bharti Airtel announced a collaboration with Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, on Monday (December 5) to support the growth of India’s digital ecosystem and the demand for high-speed internet in the country by enabling the extension of the subsea cable system ‘2Africa Pearls’ to India.

2Africa Pearls is the world’s longest subsea cable system, and it is expected to provide faster internet access to nearly 3 billion people worldwide. To expand 2Africa Pearls, the companies will collaborate with Saudi Telecommunication Company. Airtel also stated that it will incorporate Meta’s WhatsApp into its CPaaS platform, Airtel IQ.
