Before TikTok, before Instagram Reels, and definitely before AI could spin up a video from a single prompt, there was Vine. The six-second video app turned bedroom comedians into internet celebrities, birthed endless memes, and helped define the chaotic humour of a generation. It was TikTok before TikTok — and then, abruptly, it was gone.

Now, in true Elon Musk fashion, Vine might be making a comeback — kind of.
