Google removed 6,89,457 pieces of content in July 2022

Google received 37,173 complaints from users in India via various grievance redressal mechanisms and removed 6,89,457 pieces of content in July 2022.

In July, both the number of complaints and Google’s content removal action in India increased. The number of complaints increased by 13.61 percent month over month (MoM), while the number of content pieces removed increased by 7.67 percent. Over 96% of the complaints received during the month were about copyright infringement, with the remaining complaints divided into eight different categories. Based on user complaints, Google removed 1,37,657 pieces of content across various categories, with 98.3% of the content removed for copyright infringement.
