The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved a settlement deal with Google over allegations that the tech giant abused its dominant position in the Android TV market, marking a major development in one of India’s most closely watched antitrust cases.

The settlement brings to a close a probe that began after two individuals filed complaints accusing Google of forcing television manufacturers to accept restrictive terms in exchange for access to the Android TV operating system.
