PhonePe converts to public company ahead of planned IPO

Digital payments firm PhonePe has transitioned from a private entity to a public company ahead of its planned initial public offering (IPO), according to filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC).

“The board of directors of the company by way of a resolution passed on 3 April 2025 has approved the proposal to convert to a public limited company…” the Bengaluru-based firm said in the regulatory filing.

As part of the transition, the firm has also changed its name from “PhonePe Private Limited” to “PhonePe Limited.”
