After mobility startup Rapido moved the Supreme Court against its ban in Maharashtra, the apex court has refused to grant any relief to the bike-taxi startup

According to media reports, the Supreme Court has directed Rapido to file a petition with the Bombay High Court to challenge the Maharashtra government’s notification dated January 19, 2023. The Bombay High Court ordered Rapido to cease operations in Maharashtra earlier this month because it lacked a taxi aggregator licence. Rapido filed a high court petition after the Maharashtra government refused to grant it a licence as a bike-taxi aggregator and filed a FIR against its founder. The Maharashtra government informed the Supreme Court that it was considering a new scheme for the state’s bike-taxi aggregators.
