I’ve always been firmly in the pro-expenditure camp. Not my wisest trait, perhaps, but one I can defend with logic: When you spend good money, you expect good quality. That’s just how the world works. It’s only when you don’t get what you paid for that you feel cheated — “I spent so much on this, and this is what I get?” That’s the real shock.

Which is why the Sonos Arc Ultra didn’t surprise me. With its reputation — and its price tag — it had no choice but to deliver. And it does deliver, maybe even overdeliver.
