Samsung appoints TM Roh to oversee consumer electronics following co-CEO’s death

Samsung Electronics Co. said TM Roh, the head of its mobile business, will temporarily step into a more expansive role to also oversee its consumer electronics divisions, following the death of co-CEO Han Jong-Hee.
Roh will fill the vacancy at the top of Samsung’s Device Experience group until the company’s board approves a formal successor to Han, who in March suffered a cardiac arrest. Han had overseen the smartphone business steered by Roh alongside Samsung’s home appliances, visual display, health and medical and network businesses.
