If your inbox feels like a battleground of unwanted offers and cryptic crypto tips, the “unsubscribe” button likely seems like a beacon of relief. But according to cybersecurity experts quoted in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), that quick click might not be as harmless as it appears.

While we’ve been conditioned to see unsubscribe links as a legitimate way to get off mailing lists, experts now caution that they can serve as bait for scammers.
